Seeing the Future: How Monelyx Builds Your Cash Flow Projection

The Monelyx Team

At Monelyx, our mission is to give you clarity. And nothing gives more clarity than being able to anticipate the future. That's why we're incredibly excited to introduce our most powerful feature yet: Cash Flow Projections.

This tool allows you to see an estimate of your balance over the next 30, 60, or 90 days. But how exactly does it work? There are no crystal balls, just transparent logic that we want to share with you.

The Anatomy of a Projection

Your projection is a timeline built from three key ingredients. Think of it as a recipe for your financial future.

1

The Starting Point: Your Current Balance

Every projection needs a beginning. Ours is today's consolidated balance.

We add up the balances of all your accounts marked as "Include in Total". This number is the first point on your chart: your "Day Zero."

2

Predictable Events: Scheduled Transactions

This is where predictability comes into play. We analyze all your active Scheduled Transactions.

  • Monthly Salary: We know it arrives on the 15th.
  • Netflix Subscription: We know it's charged on the 22nd.
  • Weekly Savings Transfer: We know it happens every Friday.

We calculate every future occurrence of these events within the projection period and place them on the timeline, adjusting your balance with each one.

3

Flexible Plans: Planned Transactions

This is the part where you take active control. Planned Transactions are unique events you know will happen.

  • Expecting a year-end bonus? Add it as a planned income.

  • Need to pay car insurance next month? Register it as a planned expense.

Monelyx takes these plans and overlays them on the timeline, giving you the most accurate simulation possible. What if that bonus is delayed? Simply edit the date of your plan and watch the chart recalculate instantly. It's your personal financial simulator.

What is not included? The projection cannot guess your daily variable expenses (like morning coffee or an impromptu dinner). It focuses on high-impact, predictable events to give you a macro view of your future financial health.

The Result: From Uncertainty to Strategy

By combining these three elements, Monelyx generates a chart that is much more than a simple line. It's a tool for decision-making.

  • Identify Dangerous Valleys: See your projected balance dipping dangerously close to zero at the end of the month? Maybe it's time to postpone a big purchase.
  • Visualize the Impact of Saving: Add a new scheduled savings transaction and watch your projection curve rise over the long term.
  • Prepare for Large Expenses: Plan your vacation payment and see months in advance how it will affect your cash flow, giving you time to prepare.

The new Planning page is our biggest step yet toward fulfilling our promise: giving you the tools to not just react to your finances, but to actively design them.
